An island everyone needs to visit

Last month I visited the beautiful island of Santorini, it was everything I expected and more. Best holiday ever?! I think so.

We stayed at The Orabel suites, and to be honest, I cant rave about this place enough- it was the dream. Orabel suites is a small boutique hotel in Perivolos, each suite had a private terrace and a Jacuzzi. The room itself was designed beautifully, if you want a sneak peak I posted a video of my trip to Santorini on my Instagram ‘alicegreenman97’.

The hotel also had a pool, sun loungers for soaking up the sun and an all day bar. Another amazing aspect was the breakfast. Every morning you phone down stairs, and breakfast is delivered to you, where ever you want and whatever time. We always had it on the terrace. Everyday was a surprise so all you needed to order was tea or coffee. Breakfast really was AMAZING, I looked forward to waking up everyday. It normally consisted off eggs (which were cooked different everyday) with fresh bread, a fruit bowl, and freshly baked sweet pastries which was also different everyday. There was also yoghurt and granola and freshly squeezed orange juice. Needless to say I was pleasantly full until gone lunch time!

The location was perfect, it was a 5 minute walk from the well-known black beach of Perivolos and lots of great beach bars and restaurants. Greek people are SO lovely, and every restaurant seemed to have the most stunning interior. Their was a lot of different choices to eat too, from the well known English burger to fresh fish.

We rented a car for a few days to explore the island, you can literally drive from one end of Santorini to the other in about 40 minutes! While we had the car we went Kamari a small Greek town.  We went to the Kamari Open air Cinema, it was SO cool, it was hidden away in a tiny forest, all of the films they played were English with Greek subtitles. We watched King Arthur, it was so nice watching a film amongst the tree’s and under the stars. They also served cinema food so we enjoyed the film while eating nachos and popcorn.

One of my favourite nights was going to Oia. Oia is the most popular part of Santorini, with the white houses, blue roofs and sweet cobbled streets. By this time our car had gone back, so we took a shuttle taxi to Oia, it was the other end of the island so took about 40 minutes. Everyone goes to Oia for its sunset, so by 7.30pm it is full of people trying to find a good seat to watch the sun go down. We were so lucky to find the most perfect spot, after an hour of looking we came across Sunset view restaurant, they said we could have a table if we bought a bottle of wine, SOLD! haha. We watched the sunset while drinking wine and eating a lovely meal it was perfect.. and expensive!!

I absolutely loved my holiday to Santorini, I really think its a place that everyone needs to see!!! ill never forget the beautiful views, lovely people and the sunset in Oia. Oh and our late night dips in the Jacuzzi!

Bye Santorini, you dream! xxxxxx
